On Sunday February 12th StreetSquash is hosting the Second Annual StreetSquash Junior Cup, an invitational team tournament bringing together high school and middle school squash players and StreetSquash students for a day of competition, community service and fun. The event seeks to raise $25,000 to support StreetSquash’s After School Program, with each participating team contributing to the fundraising effort. It promises to be an exciting event for the greater metropolitan junior squash community and for StreetSquash.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
- 10-team Invitational Tournament
- Teams are comprised of 6 high school or middle school players (2 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze) and 1 StreetSquasher
- Round-robin, followed by playoffs and final.
- Community Service Project in which teams conduct a squash clinic with StreetSquashers on either of the two Saturdays leading up to the Cup
- Stay and watch Columbia’s Varsity take on Princeton following the tournament conclusion
Total Team Fundraising To Date: $8,620
EVENT SCHEDULE
9:30am: First round matches begin
12pm: Playoffs
Lunch served from 12pm-2pm
1pm: Finals
2:30pm: Columbia v. Princeton (Men & Women’s Varsity)
