George Polsky
Founder & Executive Director
George received a AB in Spanish Literature from Harvard University, where he was a co-captain of the 3-time national champion varsity squash team and earned All-Ivy and All-American titles. After his 1992 graduation, George spent 4 years teaching Spanish in Seattle middle and high schools. He also played squash for the U.S. team in the 1997 Maccabiah games. George obtained a master’s degree in 1999 from the NYU School of Social Work and is a certified social worker in the state of New York.
Leah Brown
Program Director
Leah received a BA in Psychology and Sociology from Wesleyan University in 1997 and a master’s degree in Student Personnel (Higher Education) Administration from Teachers College, Columbia University in 1998. She has extensive experience tutoring students at all levels from elementary through college, and has worked developing educational programs and curriculum for non-profit organizations.
Pat Cosquer
Director of Squash Programs, Teams 1 & 2
Pat graduated from Bates College in May 1997 with a BA in Sociology with a concentration on race and gender. At Bates, he captained the squash and baseball teams. In 1999, Cosquer coached the Northwestern University squash team to the Chaffee Trophy. Most recently, Pat was a volunteer at Squashbusters, StreetSquash’s cousin, and coached the Varsity Squash program at Portsmouth Abbey School. He continues to teach squash at local clubs and various camps in the summer.
Mary Cipollone
Director of College Prep Programs
Mary Cipollone graduated from Dartmouth College in 2002. Upon graduation she earned a fellowship that enabled her to spend a year developing an educational program for former street children in Nicaragua. From 2003-05, she worked at StreetSquash for 2 years as the Director of the Literacy Program before moving to Quito, Ecuador where she worked with a non-profit public policy organization, and taught math at a local high school.
Chris Tom
Director of Squash & Mentoring, Teams 3 & 4
Chris graduated from Williams College in 2005 with a BA in History and Economics. At Williams, Chris was a four year member of the squash team, a Junior Advisor for the Class of 2007, and a writer for the college’s newspaper and the sports information office. He has also coached with various camps and programs in the Philadelphia area and Williamstown. Chris has completed the Mentoring Supervisor Certificate Program run by Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City.
Laura Lindstrom
Director of Academics, Teams 4 & 5
Laura graduated from New York University in 2006 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. During her four years at NYU Laura worked as an America Reads/America Counts tutor at P.S. 2. Laura was a Community Organizing intern at Girls for Gender Equity, working on Title IX issues within the public school system. Laura is committed to making New York City’s Public Schools a better place for children to learn and thrive.
Satya Seshadri
Director of Squash and Community Service, Teams 5 & 6
Satya Seshadri (Sat) graduated in 2007 Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA where he received a B.A. in Business and Government. He was ranked 1 & 2 in the F&M Men’s Squash roster during his four years on the team. Sat is originally from India and is a certified Level 2 Squash Coach by the Asian Squash Federation. He has coached at several squash camps in the United States including Complete Squash Camp at Harvard University.
Sareen Pearl
Director of Academics, Teams 3 & 6
Sareen graduated from Boston University in 2006 with a BA in International Relations, and has a MA in Education in Risk & Prevention from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. At BU, Sareen volunteered as a tutor and literacy coach with Tenacity, an academics and tennis program. She also interned with Peace Games, where she taught violence prevention and life skills education. Sareen is committed to social-emotional learning and improving academic experiences for urban students.
Max Franklin
Director of Academics, Teams 1 & 2
Max graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2007 with a BE in Mechanical Engineering. At Vanderbilt, Max was a founding member of the Squash Team and captained the squad to two appearances at Nationals. In addition to squash, Max was a teaching assistant for freshmen engineering classes and wrote for the sports section of the college newspaper. Prior to joining the StreetSquash Staff, Max was an academic and squash volunteer since the spring of 2005.

Susie Lewis
Director of Operations and Grant Writing
Susie received her BA in Political Science and French from Wellesley College in 1990 and then headed to Prague where she taught English for a year. Before moving to New York City in February 2000, she worked as a Broadcast Producer and Business Affairs Manager for various advertising agencies in Atlanta and Boston.
